Frequently Asked Questions

Questions come
naturally.

Answers should too.

Whether you're curious about the assessment, your results, how CAT-20 works, or what comes next, we've gathered the questions people ask most often—all in one place.

Assessment

Everything about taking the CAT-20 assessment.

Not in the way we think about it. CAT-20 started from noticing something simple: people can have completely different personalities and still seem to be pulled toward the same kinds of things. We can all think deeply, care about people, get things done, explore, adapt, and bring energy—but certain things seem to pull at us more than others. For one person, it might be needing something to make sense. For another, it's noticing what needs to be handled, how someone is feeling, or what else might be possible. CAT-20 looks for those pulls—the patterns that keep showing up in what grabs you, what you can't easily ignore, and where you naturally go next. That's why CAT-20 isn't trying to describe everything about your personality. It's trying to recognize what keeps pulling at you underneath it.
We want to know. CAT-20 is an independent research framework that is still growing and being refined. While we hope your results feel familiar, we don't expect every result to get everything right for everyone. If something feels off, confusing, or simply doesn't sound like you, tell us. Your feedback helps us understand where CAT-20 is working, where it may be missing something, and what deserves a closer look. CAT-20 wasn't built to tell you who you are and expect you to accept it. Your own experience matters too.
They can—and we're still learning what those changes mean. From the retakes we've seen so far, results have generally stayed close to the person's original pattern, sometimes shifting between closely related profiles. CAT-20 looks at the pulls showing up in how you answer today. Your result is meant to help you explore that pattern—not tell you that you'll be exactly the same forever. As CAT-20 grows, retakes will help us understand something we're genuinely curious about: what tends to stay consistent, what can move, and what those changes might actually mean.

Results & Profiles

Understanding your results and profile.

CAT-20 didn't start by trying to be different. It started with noticing the same kinds of patterns in people again and again—what they naturally paid attention to, what seemed to bother them more than others, what they couldn't easily let go of, and the ways they kept approaching situations. Over time, those patterns became hard to ignore. CAT-20 was created as a way to put words to something we kept seeing but didn't always know how to explain. Rather than trying to describe your entire personality, CAT-20 focuses on those recurring pulls—what keeps grabbing you and where you naturally seem to go from there.
